The “10,000 Tours” event is part of the ‘Series by Peter Auto’, events bringing together race cars from 1950’s to the early 2000’s. Organized by Peter Auto since 2010, it is being held on the famous Circuit Paul Ricard, near Toulon in the South of France.
Eventually, last year’s (2021) edition had to be cancelled due to Covid restrictions. Finally returning this year, it took place on the last weekend of August, bringing together more than 330 historic race cars in nine different categories. More than 15,000 visitors could enjoy exciting races during a sunny weekend.
Nine Ferraris were entered in three different categories (list below). Four Ferraris 250 GT SWB Berlinettas were registered in “The Greatest’s Trophy” class. The red SWB, s/n 4037GT, driven by Rondoni / Sicari won the Performance Index on Sunday’s 2nd race.
Other cars of interest were Jean Guittard’s Ferrari 512 BB/LM (Chassis 28601), registered in the “Classic Endurance Racing II” class, and two more modern Ferrari in the “Endurance Racing Legends” category, representing the Le Mans 24h eligible cars. Michel Lecourt finished second in the Sunday’s 2nd with his amazing yellow Ferrari 333 SP s/n 034.
The final for the ‘Series by Peter Auto’ will be the “Estoril Classics” in Portugal, at the Estoril track on 7th - 9th October.
