Once again, the Historic Melbourne Exhibition buildings hosted another Motorclassica event. It is made up of a huge variety of classic cars from the turn of last century (early 1900’s) right up to modern super cars.
This year, Cadillac was one of the featured marques as well as a range of historic racing cars including some Brabhams.

The event includes judging for the best condition of cars, as well as some unrestored cars presented as found and untouched.
The range also included from the very small micro cars including BMS Isetta, Messerschmidt, Goggomobile and some rare French small cars dating back to 1916, which shows how simple cars can be.
Cadillacs ranging from very early models up to the classic 1959 and 1960 models with their large wings and huge amounts of chrome.
There is also an event they call the Club Sandwich, where car clubs are invited to display their cars in the forecourt of the buildings. Among the invited clubs were, MG, Jaguar, Mercedes, Morris, BMW and others, who all had interesting cars on display.
There was even a Ford Capri convertible converted to electric, though its range was somewhat limited. But chatting to the owner, he uses it as his daily commute as he only has to travel 20 km’s each way from home to work and back.
In addition to the fantastic display inside and the club cars, one of the dealers in super cars surrounded the building with all manor of late model Ferrari, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Jaguar, Maserati and other exotics.
