The DTM was relaunched in the year 2000 under the name “German Touring Car Masters” and attracted many fans as a follow-up series to the original DTM/ITC (1984 to 1996). Pure prototypes were fielded until 2020, with cars complying with the FIA GT3 regulations introduced to the series since. The most popular international touring car series provides its visitors far more than just motor racing. Open paddock, fair ticket prices, regular autographing sessions are just some of the features making DTM that attractive for fans.

Turn 1 is breath-taking, it is spectacular. When the DTM cars are roaring through the first corner, Turn 1, of Lausitzring, fans are opening their eyes really widely. In the past, drivers braked hard at the end of the start and finish straight and headed left into the infield. Now, however, they stay on the throttle, flat-out, perhaps just lifting a tiny little bit. Turn 1 is a banked corner, a slight banking and has some American motorsport flair to it. And just like in the US, cars are sometimes racing “three wide”. Something that just has to be seen!

An overview of the entire track

The impressive grandstand is the landmark of Lausitzring. The monumental construction is 36 metres high, towering over the entire facility. And a grandstand seat that not even necessarily has to be on the top rows allows for an impressive panoramic view of the race track including the pit lane. A unique 360-degree experience.
