The DTM was relaunched in the year 2000 under the name “German Touring Car Masters” and attracted many fans as a follow-up series to the original DTM/ITC (1984 to 1996). Pure prototypes were fielded until 2020, with cars complying with the FIA GT3 regulations introduced to the series since. The most popular international touring car series provides its visitors far more than just motor racing. Open paddock, fair ticket prices, regular autographing sessions are just some of the features making DTM that attractive for fans.

Once every year, there is plenty of action at the Dutzendteich lake when the area around the historic grandstand is transformed into the only street circuit on the DTM schedule. The Norisring is known as the German equivalent of Monte Carlo.

Only 2.3 kilometres long, only few corners, but the Norisring is quite a challenge nevertheless: nowhere else are the drivers getting closer to the Armco barriers, is staying out of the wall a matter of millimetres…

The race weekend in Nuremberg also ranks among the social highlights: seeing and being seen is the key factor at the Norisring. And talking about seeing: fans can get really close to the action, the paddock is located in the beautiful park and on the Zeppellin field.

With its current GT3 sports cars, the DTM is adding to a long-standing tradition: in the 1970s and 1980s, Group 5 and Group C sports cars already staged exciting racing at the street circuit in Nuremberg.
