Only minor changes were made in 1954 to Chevrolet ĺ s fiberglass sports car. The side-screen, window storage bag, air cleaners, starter and the location of the fuel and brake lines were altered. The softtop was now only available in beige, yet a factory hard top could also be ordered. A new camshaft fitted later in the production year raised the horsepower to 155.

Approximately eighty percent of the 1954 Corvettes were painted in Polo White, while about sixteen percent had a Pennant Blue exterior. Other color options included Sportsman Red and black.

The 1954 Chevrolet Corvette presented here has had the same owner since new and has only accumulated 25,277 miles on its odometer. The current owner was a GM employee who lovingly cared for his roadster for the past fifty-three years. Throughout his career with General Motors he moved several times and eventually retired from GM as the senior plant manager of the Freemont production facility in California.

The 1954 Corvette remained in very good overall condition, having been religiously serviced by GM technicians throughout its entire life. The gleaming silver paintwork currently worn by the Corvette was applied in 1962 at the same place the Corvette was originally painted, the General Motors plant in St. Louis. Both tops are included for quick open-air motoring or comfortable hardtop driving. In striking contrast from the exterior color, the interior is upholstered in bright red and shows only minimal wear. Accordingly, all the chrome and fittings remain in very good condition.

Mechanically, the 1954 Chevrolet Corvette is in excellent form and is ready to go. It is remarkably original and entirely period correct in its presentation. The vendor recently completed a light detailing and full service check. Authenticating its provenance, the Corvette comes with all its original documentation, GM service records, literature and books. Also included, is the 1962 repaint documentation and verification of its original, low mileage.

Being offered for sale for just the second time, this Corvette provides its next owner with tangible evidence of the heritage that spawned a legendary line of high performance cars.
