If there was ever an auto manufacturer that took lessons learned on the track and applied them to their street cars, Jaguar was it. The legendary D-Type was a formidable competitor on the racing circuit and subsequently served as the model for the E-Type, which debuted in 1961. Arguably the most well recognized sports car of its era, the E-type offered high performance clothed in a curvaceous body. Ten years and numerous improvements later, Jaguar launched the legendary V12 engine in its E-Type, transforming it with an infusion of torque and horsepower. Aside from the engine, other improvements were implemented, including power steering and power brakes that made the driving experience much more civilized. At last, Jaguar ĺ s E-Type had been successfully refined into a gracious and sophisticated grand touring car.

The lovely E-Type displayed here is an excellent, original car with less than 4,000 miles on the odometer, believed to be from new. This truly rare specimen features factory white paint, original tires and exhaust. The trunk is home to the original spare tire and jack, complete with factory documentation. Remarkably, the soft top has always remained in its upright position, while the tan interior is as new with the starting instructions still intact on the driver ĺ s sun visor. The original hardtop is still in the box, as on the day it was delivered. It was once removed from its packaging for a photo shoot and was discovered as having the original factory documentation affixed to the windows. To add to its uniqueness, the original title, bill of sale, window sticker, and manuals accompany the car.

Without question, this 1974 Jaguar E-Type Roadster is one of the most well preserved, low mileage, original E- Types ever brought to market. For the discerning car collector who is determined to acquire the very best in British sports cars, this example offers no disappointments.
