Following the war, Ford, like all manufacturers, rushed its prewar models into production to meet the pent up demand for both replacement vehicles and to fill the huge demand created by an affluent and vastly expanded market.

1954 was to be a banner year for Ford, as it debuted a host of new technological and styling advances considered to be exactly what the typical American family needed in the optimistic, postwar atomic-age. With the slogan "More than ever, the standard for the American road," Ford set out to become the undisputed leader in the low-priced, entry level market.

The biggest headline for the 1954 Ford was the introduction of the all-new overhead valve Ĺ Y ĺ -block V8 engine. The arrival of new V8 began a whole new era of performance that the old flathead simply could never meet. With 239 cubic inches of displacement and a 7.8:1 compression ratio, the newly developed engine had a horsepower rating that was 30 percent better than the previous year's. The 1954 Ford Victoria offered here is a very special Supercharged factory/dealer prototype of which only two were ever built. Remarkably, it has remained in original condition from when it rolled out of the assembly plant, in Richmond, Virginia. It is still equipped with the original McCulloch supercharger and Mega Spark Mallory ignition, and is painted in Sandstone White and Killarney Green Iridescent with a white leather interior. Making it even more special, this two-door hardtop comes with some 35 factory options and dealer accessories, including power steering, power brakes, power windows, and power seats, as well as console range radio, windshield washers, deluxe wheel covers, Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission and electric clock. The car has changed hands over the years, but has remained in its fantastic condition, a result of consistently being stored in private museums or climate-controlled garages.

With only two examples of this Supercharged 1954 Ford Victoria ever made, this is almost certainly a once in a lifetime opportunity to own a truly rare and original automobile.
