This example, chassis 28235, was first delivered as a UK car in late 1979 to its first owner Mr John Foulston. Foulston was famous for having an extensive collection of race cars and for owning Brands Hatch (amongst a few others) Race circuit. This Boxer was a personal favourite of his and was always maintained meticulously. In 1980 when the car was just one year old he ordered a number of LM specification parts to upgrade his Boxer including Pistons, Camshafts, Carburettor upgrades and an exhaust system.
The car remains in this specification to this day along with its early 512 BBLM (mark 1) front splitter, ram air fed air boxes, AP racing brakes, fully adjustable Koni shock absorbers, heavy duty clutch, 11 & 9 inch wheels and wide rear wheel arches. Purchased by its second owner in 1984 and its third and current owner in 1992 as previously mentioned the car has remained in its upgraded state for 31 out of its 32 year life. The car is presented in concours condition having had a full engine rebuild in 2006, a bare metal respray in 2008 and a thorough concours preparation in 2010 (at a cost of £15,000!!). A substantial history file accompanies the car detailing all servicing and MOT’s during its 40,000 miles on the road. A unique opportunity to purchase a very individual motor car.
