"Some say the Nomad was the most beautiful wagon ever produced and technically they are "Station Wagons," but don't refer to them by that name to a Nomad owner. Station wagons are a very different proposition. For one thing they have four doors. The 2 door Nomad was Chevrolet's answer to the urban trend of the mid 50's, the move to the suburbs. Wagon bodied cars were becoming increasingly popular along with the sporty new "hardtop" body styles. The Nomad attempted to be both!"

"Introduced at the GM Motorama at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, New York City in 1954, GM Motorama Site, as one of Head Stylist, Harley Earl's "dream cars," the first Nomad was based on a Corvette. After receiving rave reviews on its advanced styling, the Nomad was rushed into production as a full sized 55 Chevy. It was available to the public by January 1955, about 4 months after the regular 55 line launch. By the way, that first prototype, though long gone, is still referred to as the "Waldorf Nomad."

This beautiful example is a 1955 vintage 100% original except for the exterior paint and the AC unit. It is finished in Baby blue over white with a matching interior.

The production for this very specific model was 28,918 and very few are still around is such a nice near original condition.
