This 1927 Morgan Aero Trike . It is equipped with a Manual transmission. The vehicle is Blue with a Blue interior. It is offered As-Is, not covered by a warranty. - 1927 Morgan Aero Chassis No. M309 H.F.S. Morgan's first car design was a single-seat three-wheeled runabout, which was fabricated for his personal use in 1909. Interest in his runabout led him to patent his design and begin production. While he initially showed single-seat and two-seat versions of his runabout at the 1911 Olympia Motor Exhibition, he was convinced at the exhibition that there would be greater demand for a two-seat model. Morgan built his cars' reputation by entering them in competitions. One of his racing cars won the 1913 Cyclecar Grand Prix at Amiens in France. This became the basis for the Grand Prix model of 1913 to 1926, from which evolved the Aero, Super Sports, and Sports models. The Aero is equipped with a two-cylinder KTW J.A.P “side-valve” or “flat-head” engine and a two-speed (forward only) gearbox. The engine uses a non-recovering oil system, meaning drops of oil are released onto the exposed valves and springs. A pump located on the instrument panel, is equipped with a metering tube to release the oil at a regular interval. The engine located ahead of the axis of the front wheels in a chassis made of steel tubes brazed into cast lugs. To this day, Morgan cars are still fitted with wooden “tub” frames hand-made of ash. The unique driver presented here was found in Queensland Australia 2006, and imported to United States soon after. According to the Morgan Motor Company chassis record, the trike was dispatched on October 22nd 1930, outfitted in a blue-red color scheme. The Aero now wears two-tone blue finish with complimenting blue upholstery, and is a recipient of an older restoration which still presents well as a driver. A new clutch was installed recently and has yet to be bedded in. An excellent candidate for vintage motoring events! A unique and presentable driver! Fitted with the desirable J.A.P engine!
