Affordable, drop-top Corvettes are still out there, including this great-looking 1970 roadster. Dressed in classic red with a black interior and black convertible top, along with a set of flashy chrome wheels, it's most definitely an eye-catcher. Power comes from a reliable 350 cubic inch small block driving a 4-speed manual. In short, this Corvette is the perfect recipe for summertime fun. Sharp-eyed Corvette fans will easily recognize the 1973 nose that's been grafted to the front of this 1970, giving it the monochromatic look of the later cars and eliminating the chrome bumpers. The color it currently sports is closer to a Monza Red, and there's just nothing like a red Corvette. The body is in good condition, with the later nose integrating nicely with the earlier body. Not built to show (and priced appropriately), this Corvette is all about hitting the road, and looks great rolling down the highway where people will envy the wide smile on the driver's face. The black vinyl interior is probably mostly original, with a few updated pieces installed as necessary. The seat covers are in good condition and show wear appropriate to their age, while the carpets are more recent. The dash, door panels, and console also appear to be original pieces, and the fact that it is in such well-preserved condition suggests that this car has had a pretty easy life with storage out of the sun. The gauges are all functional, and the leather-wrapped steering wheel on the tilt and telescoping column appears to be from a later Corvette. A powerful Sony AM/FM/CD stereo system has been installed in the original radio's location, making this Corvette a pleasure to cruise in. Speaking of cruising, power comes from a great-sounding 350 cubic inch small block. An Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor and intake manifold add a little horsepower, while a matching chrome air cleaner and valve covers add some under hood sparkle. It fires up easily and sounds potent breathing through long-tube headers and a healthy dual exhaust system, just as you would expect from a Corvette. A wide-ratio 4-speed manual makes it a blast to drive, even if only to listen to the engine winding through the gears. The suspension has been maintained properly, and the brakes work well, which is important on a car that can generate the speeds that this one can. It rolls on a set of awesome-looking 17-inch American Racing Torque Thrust wheels wearing 245/45/17 front and 275/40/17 rear performance radials. Owning a Corvette puts you into a unique group of enthusiasts who are passionate about the cars and who understand that these cars are really about having fun. With massive resources and parts support, these are truly wonderful cars to own and drive, and you'll find that everyone is your friend when you're behind the wheel of a bright red Corvette convertible. If you're a stickler for accuracy, a real 1970 front end could easily be reinstalled, but if this were my car, I'd simply maintain it and drive the doors off it. Don't sit by the sidelines again this summer, grab this Corvette roadster and tear up some pavement. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom.
