The 1957 Chryslers introduced the second generation of Virgil Exner's "Forward Look" styling, a dramatic presentation accentuated by features like the "Flight Sweep" contrasting color panels. The 1957 Chryslers also abounded in new, innovative technical features including Torsion-Aire ride and the debut of Chrysler's 3-speed Torque-Flite automatic transmission. This 1957 Chrysler Windsor two-door hardtop has been restored to exceptional, show car, condition and is presented in a stunning combination of black with a coral roof and "Flight Sweep" panel accented with a coral and white interior. It rides on chrome wire wheels with wide whitewall tires and has power steering, power brakes, pushbutton shifting, and a radio. Power comes from Chrysler's Polyspherical head V-8 with 354 cubic inches and 285 horsepower. Its many features exemplify Chrysler's engineering orientation, even the dramatic fender fins which were incorporated in the design primarily to stabilize the car's aerodynamic performance at the increasingly high speeds which more powerful engines, better transmissions and improved handling chassis were making practical in daily use. The paint, chrome, interior, chassis, underbody and engine have all been done to showroom condition, a fresh, clean, sharp presentation as it would have rolled out of a proud Chrysler dealer in 1957.
