Reasonably priced early Camaros are getting harder and harder to find all the time. Fortunately, we've discovered this very nicely done '67 Camaro hardtop with good paint, a great-running small block, and a beautifully finished interior, all for about what you'd pay for a garden-variety daily driver. This is a car that's welcome and admired at any local cruise night or car show, and that you can drive with confidence whenever the sun is out. This beautiful coupe sports a finish that might be a relative of Madiera Maroon. With good panel work and careful assembly, the car shows very well, and the metallic finish gives it a depth that enhances the Camaro's shape. A steel cowl-induction hood was added during the restoration, and it's the right compliment to the ducktail spoiler out back. There's good chrome on the bumpers and the bright wheel well trim has been polished to a high shine. The 1967 Camaros feature vent windows in the front doors, which truly are a nice addition-I don't know why they stopped using them. For cool points, nothing beats the black and white houndstooth fabric that Chevy was using in the early Camaros. It's pure '60s, but not in an outrageous way that dates the car. Instead, it's classic and timeless and in this car, the entire interior has been restored. The low back buckets have fresh covers, along with the rear bench, the carpets are new, and the headliner is taut and in good condition. The gauges-such as they are with only a speedometer and fuel gauge-appear to be in original condition under a newer dash pad. There's no console, but who doesn't love the purposeful look of the Hurst shifter and white cue ball knob sticking out of the transmission tunnel? A recent AM/FM/cassette stereo has been retrofitted in the stock location, and it's a big improvement over the original 2 watt AM unit. The trunk is coated in correct spatter finish paint, and features a new mat and full sized spare. Under that cowl induction hood you'll find a warmed-over 350 with a lot of polished aluminum and other dress-up parts. The block wears Chevy Orange paint, but nobody's going to mistake this engine bay for original. Up top there's a 650 CFM Holley 4-barrel atop a polished aluminum intake, topped by a chrome air cleaner. An MSD ignition system lights the fires, and long-tube headers manage the exhaust. Polished valve covers, billet pulleys, and a chrome alternator all help take this engine compartment a step above ordinary. The engine is backed by a Muncie 4-speed driving a rugged 10-bolt rear that hangs on a set of stock leaf springs. Power steering and power disc brakes make this Camaro a pleasure to drive, and the Flowmaster exhaust system provides a thrilling soundtrack. It rolls on handsome Rallys wearing 225/60/15 BFGoodrich T/A radials. Go ahead and look at the early Camaros on the market, and compare them to this one. You won't find many that are cleaner, straighter, or better finished than this one for the money. With a growling V8 under the hood, this one runs extremely well, it's got some nice options, and there isn't anyone who doesn't love that houndstooth upholstery. This is one of those cars that couldn't be duplicated for the asking price. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom.
