Known History

Vehicle to be offered WITHOUT RESERVE and SOLD to the highest bidder August 18 - 20th, at Russo and Steele's 11th Annual "Sports & Muscle at The Marriott" in Downtown Monterey, California. Please contact us for more information.

Although General Motors introduced its first pickup truck in 1930, the term "Silverado" was a designation used only to detail the higher level trim for the Chevrolet C/K pickup trucks and Suburbans from 1975 through 1999. GMC used a few variations of the "Sierra" name (Sierra, High Sierra, Sierra Grande, Sierra Classic) to distinguish the different trim levels through 1987, though the "C/K" nomenclature was continued through 1999. "C" (or "R" for 1987) trucks had rear-wheel drive while "K" (or "V" in 1987) models had four-wheel drive. Both Chevrolet and GMC dropped the "C" and "K" designations in 1999. However Chevrolet still uses the CK and the CC in their current model codes.

The Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra trucks have been essentially the same for their entire history. The Silverado today is generally advertised as the "lower" version, while the Sierra has more luxury options. There are some trim and option variations as well. Early models included variations in the engine and equipment, but the present differences are slight. The 1999 redesign included different grilles and interior trim, and certain features (e.g. Quadrasteer) were included at different times on the two trucks.

This 1998 Chevrolet Silverado is an award winning show truck with only 10,200 documented original miles. It has been kept in a climate controlled garage and never driven in the rain. It has full power options and is powerd by a 5.7L V-8 with ProCharger Supercharger and Intercooler. It generates approximately 425-450hp. It has Edelbrock ceramic coated headers, Boranni cat back dual exhaust, A/T, 3:42 posi rearend, Hellwig sway bar and Bell-Tech 4/6 lowering kit. The numerous body mods including rolled rear pan, smooth tailgate, custom mirrors, aftermarket lighting, factory tinted glass and body colored front bumper. The interior is perfect and stock with the exception of 'A' pillar gauges to keep track of fuel pressure and boost. Regular maintenance has been done on fluids, belt, hoses, etc. Rear wheels are new Centerline 18"X9.5" Splitspoke with new M/T 28"X12" Street Radials. Fronts are 15"X6" new Centerline Splitspoke with new BF Goodrich P205/70R15 Radial tires.

The most outstanding feature of the truck is the paint. The GM Victory Red paint was painstakingly colorsanded flat and then overlayed with House Of Colors White Pearl flames fading to Candy Tangerine, outlined in Apple Green. The bed has never been used. Shoes have never touched the carpet. It has never been smoked in or spent a night out of the garage. A new, never used custom cover is included. All documentation and manuals will be included.

THIS TRUCK IS CALIFORNIA SMOG LEGAL. This truck is as near perfect as there is with the exception of a small ding in the paint on the right, lower end of the bumper, thanks to the hiway peg of my bike. I touched it up, it's hard to see, but it's there.
