In 1967, pickup trucks weren't commuter cars, they were tools. Fortunately for us, it seems that someone forgot to tell the fellow who originally ordered this beautiful Chevy C10 pickup and loaded it with options like A/C, power steering, and bucket seats with a center console. 100% matching numbers, the 327 has been rebuilt, the paint has been refinished, and several upgrades make this one of the most handsome and fun to drive pickups we've featured in a long time. The paint is a special Anniversary Gold, similar to that used on top-of-the-line Impalas in 1958. Unusual and beautiful, the paint and body were restored about five years ago and still look fantastic today. More than just a quick respray, the work extends to the door jambs, firewall, and even the bed rails, which are covered by a hard tonneau that has been painted to match. Extremely straight and clean, the body needed no major surgery during the restoration, and the white top adds some contrast that takes the heavy hauler upscale. All the chrome and stainless remains in excellent condition, and even the strip that runs the length of the body shows no parking lot dings or scuffs, indicative of a truck that has been cherished all its life. The bed features a spray-on bedliner, and as I mentioned, is hidden under a hard-shell tonneau that lifts up for easy access. White bucket seats are the foundation of the interior, with an optional third seat in the center on top of the console, which is an unusual factory option. The interior is still truck basic, but the white vinyl and attention to detail take it to a higher level-nobody who was going to work their truck hard ordered white seats. Anniversary Gold covers most of the interior, since padded dashboards were a relatively new innovation for cars, not trucks, and no headliner was supplied. Black carpets help to anchor the interior and make it seem bigger than it is. The simple round gauges are all original and fully functional, and the original AM radio still lives in the dash, although it appears that it has been modified with an FM converter and a set of discreetly hidden speakers in the kick panels. You'll note that this is a factory air conditioned truck, which uses special round vents at either end of the dash-they weren't included in non-A/C trucks. Better yet, the original RPO sticker is still in the dashboard, giving you a complete picture of the truck's features and options. The original 327 cubic inch V8 still lives under the hood, backed up by a 3-speed automatic, making this pickup a pleasure to drive. Rebuilt when the truck was restored, it's an excellent runner, making great V8 sounds and making enough power to make the truck quick enough to surprise other drivers who maybe aren't paying attention. Bathed in correct Chevy Orange with the original single-snorkel air cleaner and reproduction decals, it's far nicer than most trucks can claim. The chassis is clean and solid, although not detailed for show, and it's further proof that this has been a well-maintained truck in a dry climate all its life. The dual exhaust system features a pair of big mufflers that keep the engine's note appropriately subdued without killing horsepower, and new shocks make this one ride surprisingly well. It rolls on a set of timeless Rally wheels wearing 275/60/15 Uniroyal white letter radials. In 1967, trucks just weren't supposed to be this nice. There's no doubt this was a special order piece for someone who built it to suit their own tastes, and it was never a workhorse. A clean truck to begin with, the restoration has created an exceptional C10 that looks great and drives like new. With increasing interest in trucks, the best ones with unusual options and colors are always the first to go, so the clock is ticking on this one. Call today!
