Aston Martin’s DB4 was introduced at the 1958 London Motor Show and represented the new course of
direction for this small manufacturer. Owner, David Brown’s decision to dedicate himself to the “GT”
category rather than the “Prototype” category of motorsports racing gave rise to the introduction of the.
“DB4 GT” which was unveiled at 1959 Paris Motor Show.

This GT variant of the already successful DB4 was to be lighter and more compact. The wheelbase was
shortened by 13cm and overall length went from 4480mm. to 4350mm. Weight was radically reduced
from 1308kg to 1269kgs. Sixty-five chassis in both left and right-hand-drive versions were produced in
a very short period of time. Today they are the most desirable and sought after Aston Martin road cars
ever built. Much like the Ferrari SWB, demand has far outstripped the limited supply of available
vehicles and as such, values have risen quickly.

Chassis 0153/L
Shortly after being completed, this particular DB4 GT made its world debut at the New York Auto
Show. The car was purchased directly off the show stand and delivered to its first owner who used it
solely as a road car despite the car's race derived background. The car remained with its first owner
until the early 1970s when it was acquired by the well-known California Aston Martin collector and
enthusiast, Mr. Joseph Aboaf.

Aboaf lovingly and carefully maintained this particular Aston for more than 30 years. Fellow California
Aston enthusiast, Larry Davis, was eventually able to acquire the car, but later sold it to a well-known
dealer in Los Angeles. The dealer sold it to a local collector who passed it on to us in August 2007.

With the exception of a repaint in the original color and a re-trimming of the seats covers also in the
original colors, this car has remained remarkably original and un-molested. The engine, gearbox and
rear-axle are all correct and original to this car. In other words "Matching Numbers" front to back.

The dry California climate and careful servicing and attention to the car's needs have resulted in 0153/L
being very solid and remarkable preserved. We believe this very competitive and eligible DB4 GT is
ready for any event.
