This smart competition Porsche 911 would make an excellent entry into the many historic race series currently running in Britain and throughout Europe. Manufactured in 1976, the car is a rare Carrera 3.0 and one of only 3,353 built. In the hands of the current owner since 1990, it was converted for racing by Alan Winkleman of Preparacing in 1993 and first competed in the Porsche Production Championship in 1994. Thereafter this 911 competed in the various Porsche Club GB Championships with a third place overall in the Porsche Classic Championship in 1999, runner-up in the championship in 2003 and champion in 2004. The following year brought further success with the most race wins in the championship and in 2006 the car was the Class 2 victor and championship runner-up. This season the car had a single outing at Snetterton on April 21st & 22nd and achieved class pole position and two race wins.

To keep this car at the sharp end of the grid it has had constant mechanical attention including a complete body and chassis overhaul in 1999 by Parr Motorsport. In 2002 the Porsche underwent an engine inspection and overhaul and two years later it received a full re-spray in Blood Orange, a gearbox rebuild, new oil pipes, top end engine rebuild with Divlar engine studs, new torsion bars, spring plates and new brake calipers. Constant preparation consisted of regular maintenance in 2005 with a new competition clutch fitted in 2006 when another top end rebuild was also carried out. Earlier this year the car underwent general race preparation and was fitted with new driveshafts. Supplied with a V5 registration document, old MoT test certificates dating back to 1990 and a current one valid until March 2008, this road-legal car is competitive, well prepared and ready to race.
