Known History

In 1997, Ferrari took over the management of Maserati, with the aim of securing its long-term position in the supercar market. The result, in 1998, was the 3200GT, a splendid 4-seater coupé designed by Giurgiaro, driven by a V8 twin-turbo and luxuriously equipped. The car was an immediate success, marrying style, performance and quality. Four years later, it was given a new naturally aspirated V8 4.2-litre engine designed by Ferrari. Now achieving 390bhp across a wider power band, there was an optional semi-automatic « Cambiocorsa » gearbox also developed by Ferrari. With paddle shift at the steering-wheel, the gearbox permitted four different modes of operation : Normal, Automatic, Sport and Low Grip. This extraordinary car was capable of 285 km/h and could accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 4.8 seconds.

With a reading of 180,000km on the clock, this Maserati Coupé Cambiocorsa was initially sold by Charles Pozzi to its first owner, a well-known Parisian gallery owner, who drove the car regularly to his second gallery in Geneva. In 2008 he sold the car through Artcurial to the present owner who has just used it for week-end drives. This splendid Maserati has always been looked after by Pozzi and the file contains numerous bills, stamped service books and the owner?s handbook. Used primarily for long journeys on the autoroute, this imposing car provides both comfort and a sporty performance, and has been always been driven with care. It is one of the new generation of Maseratis, designed and built under Ferrari?s management, and offers excellent reliability. Moreover, this example benefits from the 4.2-litre engine, an improvement on the twin-turbo, and the Cambiocorsa gearbox that adds something special to the driving experience.
