If you went looking for a clean, used Mustang in the late 1970s, something like this 1967 coupe is probably what you would have found. Not a perfect car, but one that has been driven and enjoyed, with a ton of personality and a lot of fun still left in it. Not all cars need to be trailer queens, and there's a lot of fun to be had in a car that you can just drive without a second thought. If you are looking for a car that can be driven and enjoyed right now, with some potential upside in the future if you invest some sweat equity, this '67 Mustang coupe will reward you with years of great memories for not a lot of money up front. The bodywork was refinished about a decade ago, and it's starting to show its age today, which happens to cars that are actually used and enjoyed (heck, it even happens to show pieces if they aren't kept at exactly the right temperature-cars aren't meant to be static). So if you're looking for a show car, this probably isn't it. However, if you're looking for a handsome coupe in cool and funky Lime Gold, here it is. For the most part, the car presents very well and the paint work was clearly done to professional standards. Gaps are pretty good, everything fits together nicely, and the finish shines up well enough that you'll be proud to spend a Saturday afternoon waxing it in your driveway. It's not perfect, but it's not a rust bucket, either, and if you want to take it to the next level, the paint and bodywork would be easy to do. The point is, this is a car that you can drive right now, and upgrade as time and finances allow. When the car was painted, it also received new Ivy Gold seat covers that are holding up extremely well. Handsome two-tone green matches the body and adds an upscale flavor to the coupe's passenger compartment, and the back seat looks brand new. There's a fairly complete array of gauges, although a tachometer was still an optional extra in 1967. Beautiful dark green carpets anchor the interior and look great thanks to a matching set of floor mats that have been protecting the floors. The only noteworthy upgrade inside is a Jensen AM/FM/cassette stereo head unit driving a set of speakers on the rear package shelf. In the trunk, you'll find a correct mat and full sized spare tire, with its own matching cover. But the number one reason people buy and love Mustangs lives under the hood-genuine American V8 power. In the case of this coupe, it's a C-code 289 with a 2-barrel carburetor, which is a reliable, torquey motor that makes all the right eight cylinder sounds. Rebuilt and finished in a coat of Ford Blue paint, it looks proper under the hood with the big air cleaner and reproduction decals. The valve covers have been chromed, perhaps to add a little flash, and there are signs of recent and regular maintenance throughout, including a recently rebuilt carburetor and an electronic ignition upgrade. There's a C4 3-speed automatic behind the 289 driving a bulletproof 9-inch rear with what appear to be 3.00 gears, so it's a comfortable highway cruiser. It rolls on standard 14-inch steel wheels with the original wheel covers and recent 205/70/14 Pirelli narrow white stripe radials for a surprisingly authentic look. In all honesty, finding a reliable, comfortable, low-maintenance hobby car is not as easy as it sounds, but this one fits the bill. Presentable as-is, and potentially so much more, it features an interior with no needs, and a reliable, powerful engine that will run practically forever. Spend some time on the details and it would be easy to take this coupe up a few notches without breaking the bank, or just drive and enjoy as-is. Handsome and fun to drive, there are far worse ways to spend a sunny afternoon than behind the wheel of this little Mustang coupe. Call today!
