This car has had a comprehensive Frame-Up Restoration including:

Ø New paint. - Correct GG1 –Pine Green Metallic.

Ø New black vinyl interior incl. carpets. Upgraded to Optional E6X code

Ø New white top w/ glass window. 302 code.

Ø New tires. Mastercraft A/S IV P225/75R14

Ø New Battery.

 Bumpers F&R re-chromed.

Ø No mechanical restoration needed as it has only 83K miles which are believed to be actual miles based on the car’s outstanding condition, overall wear & sound mechanics. No abnormal drips or noises or overheating.

See my Condition Guidelines on the Vehicle Description Form links on my Website for a complete breakdown of condition ratings. I rate this car a #2- because it is far superior to a #3 or #3+ car or what’s commonly called a 20 – footer & looks just as fantastic up close. This Newport has an un-detailed engine bay & chassis w/ minor pitting on some of the original chrome keeping it from an absolute #2 car.

Body & Paint – Resprayed apprx. 12 yrs ago including inside door jambs in factory correct GG1 –Pine Green Metallic over rust-free straight panels. The paint is OUTSTANDING, one of the nicest jobs I’ve seen, showing no orange peel, spider cracks, drips or sags, just an absolutely smooth deep finish. There are a few small chips & visible edge wear upon close one–foot inspection. All metal is straight & solid. A magnet stuck solidly everywhere w/ the exception of sticking less at the conv. top line along the back left deck where non-metal filler was professionally used. On the majority of cars, this area can either be rotted out or entirely plastic. This car needed minimal restorative work on the body & shows no bubbles/deterioration whatsoever & has remained that way for over 12 years! If this car ever had rust, it’s been properly eradicated. The trunk is solid metal w/ newer textured paint. Floor panels & elsewhere are solid.

Interior – Complete E6X code seat cover incl. armrest front & rear that were redone & appear in showroom condition. New carpets. Door panels may be original, yet in very good condition, the driver’s armrest showing normal wear w/ an almost invisible patch on the driver’s side door panel. The seats could pass for glove leather they are so soft & supple & unlike any average vinyl. Dash is in VG cond, w/ all gauges, switches present & working. Steering wheel has usual plastic rim cracks. Orig. radio works but has poor reception.

Power Top –302 code. As new w/ perfect rear glass, works quietly & quickly.

Chrome, trim metalwork – Bumpers re-chromed & are shiny showing no rust or discernible finish loss. Chrome trim around lenses & windows has some minor rust pitting. Front grill and headlight surrounds are clean and bright.

Glass & weatherstripping - All good.

Mechanics - Car starts, runs & drives nicely w/ a great V8 rumble. Exhaust is custom w/ “CHERRY BOMB” glasspacks. The 383ci has the economical 2 bbl which should give you around 12 -15 mpg city & 18 -20 highway on regular gas. I know this from personal experience getting slightly lower numbers w/ a `69 440 Road Runner. In other words, a pleasurable Sunday cruise of 50 miles should set you back less than $20 bucks. If that’s not money well spent, I don’t know what is. Car shifts & brakes as it should. Chassis is solid showing normal surface rust of a 41 year old car.

This is a no-problem, fantastic looking cruiser, ready to roll for little money. Spend some great moments on the road this summer & fall & detail the engine over the winter if you wish.
