Cars like this 1955 Chevy require two things: time and money. The more of one you have, the less of the other you need, but there's no way around it, a car this nice requires a serious investment. Packing a beautifully detailed 330 horsepower small block under the hood and a '50s perfect two-tone color scheme, this is a car that everyone can appreciate. Fast, reliable, and gorgeous, it's everything the original designers wished the 1955 Chevy would be. The bodywork is straight enough that NASA can come and calibrate their instruments using its surface, and the car fits together extremely well. The off-white India Ivory is a very elegant contrast to the bright, cheerful blue, and together they give the car a soft glow that is perfect for the era. All the original trim is intact, which also means someone spent enough restoring it to put a kid through college. Detailing is crisp, and there are virtually zero flaws in the brightwork. In person, this car is impossible to ignore. The interior has been restored to almost 100% factory specification, with a few notable exceptions. The seats wear bright new seat covers that match the body and replicate the factory patterns, and the door panels were stitched to match. Fresh turquoise carpets show expert binding work, and are protected by rubber floor mats with a '50s style Chevrolet logo. You'll note the A/C has been carefully integrated in a panel below the dash, and the original gauges have been restored and remain fully functional. Sharp-eyed viewers may recognize the steering wheel as a first-generation Camaro piece that has been artfully finished with a matching turquoise rim-nice! Power comes from a well-dressed 350 cubic inch crate motor rated at 330 horsepower. Liberal doses of chrome plating make the engine bay glitter, covering everything from the oval air cleaner to the valve covers to the accessories. The A/C is filled with R134a refrigerant, which makes for easy maintenance, and a set of billet pulleys keeps everything spinning. A 700R4 4-speed automatic feeds the original rear end, making cruising a pleasure, and the suspension and brakes have been fully rebuilt. It rides on a set of polished Torque Thrust wheels with spinner centers and BFGoodrich T/A radials. It's rare to see cars this nice, and when one like this shows up at a cruise night or car show, it's obvious where the big money was spent. The quality is off-the-charts, and the attention to detail shows that someone was thinking about every step of the build. From the superb paint and bodywork to the rumbling V8 under the hood, it's a car that will delight you every time you see it in the garage or climb behind the wheel, which is what this hobby is all about.
