Only 25 were ever made of this Chryler's most powerful and expensive 1928 range-topping model designed to enable them to compete with Stutz, Cadillac and Dusenberg. The elegant two door coupe bodywork was by Le Baron and includes a rumble seat, opening front screen, engine-turned aluminium dashboard. This is also the last Chrysler to wear the fluted radiator grill design which was deemed to infringe Vauxhall's similarly shaped design which unfortunately for Chrysler had been patented by their competitor some years previously!
Hugely powerful by the standards of the day, the car is still seriously fast yet can be stopped efficiently thanks to the very advanced all hydraulic braking system, a particular feature of this model in period.
This particular car is thought to one of only two remaining and was owned for previously by CA collector and Pebble Beach entrant Pat Craig. It is undoubtedly the definitive surviving example and photos and old magazine articles showing the car post-restoration in the 1980's are readily available on the internet.
Now recommissioned following some fifteen years storage in Europe, the car drives superbly with bodywork and paintwork remaining in excellent condition, a testament to the quality of the restoration in the late 1970's as well as to the very few miles covered since.
Rare and highly collectible! Shipping arranged anywhere by agreement.
