With receipts totaling almost $80,000, you know this black and white '55 Chevy 210 coupe delivers the goods. There's a ZZ24 crate motor under that fiberglass hood, some very nice bodywork, and a tastefully upgraded stock style interior and if you've been dreaming of owning a car that will bring home the big trophies, this might be your chance. The best customs leave the original details intact, changing just enough that the line between stock and modified becomes pretty blurry, and that's exactly what this Chevy offers. The two-tone paint scheme is right out of the catalog, and all the factory trim remains intact, save for the original hood, which has been replaced by a lightweight fiberglass piece that improves performance and helps vent the heat under the hood. The overall effect is a very clean Shoebox with just a bit of attitude that's completely backed by the potent chassis, and if the hood isn't to your tastes, a stock steel pieces are easily found. The black and white theme continues inside with a nicely restored interior, which, like the exterior, successfully blends the original design with some tasteful upgrades. The seats and door panels are restoration-grade, although billet armrests and custom speaker grilles bring it into the 21st century. The original dash remains, as well as a restored Impala steering wheel, although there's a tach in true hot-rod fashion on the chrome tilt column, as well as a complete array of auxiliary gauges mounted down low. Those speaker grilles aren't just for show, thanks to a powerful Pioneer AM/FM/CD head unit mounted in the dash that delivers impressive sound. And trick is the best word for the mechanical side of this awesome Chevy. The engine is an aluminum-headed ZZ24 crate motor that made 355 horsepower out of the box, but apparently that wasn't enough, so they added a Weiand blower and a Holley Street Avenger carburetor. MSD supplied the ignition, and there's an awful lot of polished aluminum and chrome under that cowl-induction hood. A 3-speed automatic handles the gears, along with a TCI torque converter. The chassis has been heavily upgraded as well, including upper and lower A-arms from Heidt's, a massive front sway bar, and a power rack-and-pinion system. In back, the 3.73-geared 12-bolt hangs on relocated springs to add some room for the wider rear tires, and there's a disc brake at each corner. Ceramic-coated headers feed a dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers, and the car sounds amazing both at idle and at full song. In a final nod to tradition there are Torque Thrust D wheels all around wearing BFGoodrich radials. Perhaps even more amazing than the hardware itself is that it manages to pull down 18 MPG on the open road, even with all the performance-enhancing hardware under the hood. This is an extremely impressive car that runs as great as it looks and delivers on its promises. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom.
