This very traditional 1929 Ford roadster delivers back-to-basics thrills that early hot rodders surely enjoyed when they first strapped a big V8 into the lightweight little Ford's body. With full fenders and a perfect stance, it also stands out with a vivid coat of bright red paint done to a good standard. The '29 Ford hoods are often tough to align, but you can see that someone did their homework and the seam on the hood meets the seam on the firewall just as it should. The rumble seat was retained, and the steps switched from the passenger's side to the driver's just for effect, and there's a practical luggage rack mounted out back. Like the earliest hot rodders, the original trim was retained, including the grille, bumpers, door handles, and windshield stanchions, which also include wind wings. In fact, the only notable modification I see is a pair of new fuel tanks mounted under the frame, with the filler necks poking through the splash aprons. Cool! The interior is pure Model A done to pretty much original standards, which is why we love this car so much. There's a simple black bench seat, black rubber floor mats, and a steel dash full of modern gauges. However, you'll also notice that this car has A/C, which is virtually unheard-of in an open roadster but a very welcome and thoughtful addition. A wood-rimmed Grant GT steering wheel uses a tilt column to make it easy to get comfortable behind the wheel, and the round, rubber-faced pedals are certainly vintage-looking. In back, the rumble seat has been upholstered to match and provides cozy space for two passengers who will enjoy every minute of the ride in this sporty roadster. Overhead, a new black folding top gives it the right profile when up and stows easily in about 7 seconds. There's nothing more traditional than a small block Chevy in your early Ford, and the V8 in this roadster has been nicely finished with a ton of chrome and billet hardware. The firewall has been recessed to fit the larger engine, with clean workmanship and plenty of access to the distributor. In addition to the unusual A/C added to this roadster, you'll also notice power steering, with the pump mounted down low, as well as a polished alternator, heavy-duty radiator and an electric cooling fan. That's a lot of hardware to pack into the Model A's engine bay, but the installation is neat and tidy with a very professional look. The heavily reinforced frame offers a Mustang II type front suspension with tubular A-arms and power disc brakes, while a Ford 9-inch hangs out back on a set of composite leaf springs with air shocks. For that ultra-traditional look, it also includes newer whitewall radials on painted steelies with hubcaps and trim rings. For a back-to-basics roadster, this one is loaded with comfort and convenience features, making it a pleasure to drive anywhere, any time. Call us today!
