We are pleased to offer 1961 Ferrari 250 GTE 2+2 Series I s/n 2675 GT. New in Ferrari red and still showing good original Ferrari red paint over an excellent original body, with a very nice tan leather interior. 250 GTE s/n 2675 GT has only 63,570 miles or just 1,400 miles per year over its life and has spent much of its life in collections or under a car cover. Just completed a full engine rebuild by Pino Narducci of New York. All new valves and valve guides, new pistons and rings, new bearings, seals and gaskets. All receipts available. Work done between December 2006 and May 2007 with only 80 miles since rebuild. Also fitted with a new clutch disc and pressure plate, new overdrive switch and all new ANSA exhaust and exhaust hangers. Runs as new, excellent overdrive, nothing missing, detailed engine bay and original interior. Matching numbers. Known and documented history from new. A great car to detail and go for the preservation trophy at next year’s Cavallino or the FCA Nationals.

Known History

S/n 2675 GT. 250 GTE 2+2. 1961. Identified in Pininfarina records as 250 GTE 2+2 Series I. (H. Raab’s FSN Part I).

 

1961, new to McGee of Kerr–McGee oil, Oklahoma. From new in red with tan.

 

1974, December, seen and photographed by Gerald Roush at the Preservation Hall Museum, Oklahoma City, OK. Part of the Kerr–McGee collection (GLR).

 

1977, 3–5 June, offered at James C. Leake Antiques, Inc. Auction, Tulsa, OK. Engine 128F. Excellent unrestored condition.

 

1978, offered by Edward M. Boyle, Shawnee Mission, Kansas. Red with tan int. 42,000 mi. As per Boyle, McGee was the original owner. Purchased at Leake Auction.

 

1982, with Roger Moffat, Lawrence, Kansas.

 

1983, November, owned by James Tipton, Chicago, IL.

 

1984, 20 Aug., New Jersey title issued.

 

1986, January, acquired by David W. Frassinelli, Bridgeport, CT from James Tipton, New Jersey. Tipton said that he had purchased the car in Chicago before moving to New Jersey. Red with tan leather, as per letter from Frassinelli 16 July, 1987.

 

1988, offered in the FML issue #1309 by Frassinelli:

 

Exterior red paint is cracking, tan interior is presentable. Mechanically perfect after complete engine rebuild. Interesting history and documentation of 58,000 miles.

 

1988, 16 Apr., purchased from Frassinelli by Craig M. Balaban, Holtsville, NY. 57,979 miles, as per letter from Balaban 28 Nov 1988.

 

1992, offered in the FML, issue #1724 by Balaban:

 

Red with original tan leather and carpets. USA car, shows 60,000 miles. Substantial documented history and receipts for mechanical rebuild. New correct Michelins. Everything works including overdrive. Runs well. Straight, complete, rust-free.

 

1993, February, offered again in Hemmings Motor News and in the FML issue #1807.

 

1993, 27 Mar. to 24 Apr., for sale in FML by Craig Balaban, Holtsville, NY:

 

Red with original tan leather and carpets. USA car, shows 60,000 miles. Substantial documented history and receipts for mechanical rebuild. New correct Michelins, everything works including overdrive. Great driver.

Restored in 2000, which included re–facing the cylinder heads, valve job including replacing valve guides, water pump replacement, re–trimming the interior with new headlining, leather and carpets. 62,622 miles. Offered with many invoices, records, etc.
