A new collectible is emerging in this collector car world. The 2nd generation Camaro is gaining respect now. One reason is cars like this beautiful 1979 Camaro Z28 - 2-door coupe in code 19 black over a beautiful black vinyl interior. A numbers matching code #LM1- 350cid - V-8 mated to a strong 350 Turbo Hydramatic transmission which delivers power to a 10 bolt 3:42:1 posi rear end. This is a completely stock vehicle, inside and out. Paint is very good, engine bay is clean and completely stock and the rare turbine wheels are in great shape. Unlike a lot of Z28 models, this one has a lot of options and accessories. There are too many to name here but let me introduce you to some of them. Fortunately a build sheet is included so you can go over the complete list. Power steering, power brakes, power door locks, custom interior, turbo wheels, tilt-wheel, air conditioning, tinted glass all over, a very rare 2-postion driver seat back, foot well lights, console, door edge guards, heavy duty radiator, gauge package, cruise control, head lamp warning buzzer, pulse wipers, custom mirror and much more. By the way, the lever for the 2-position drivers seat back is located on the right side of the seat, down by the side of the console. Once you are out of traffic and settling down on the interstate, release that lever and you will allow your back to relax. . To add to your comfort Chevrolet put the steering wheel spokes at 2 - 4 - 8 and the 10 positions so you could lay your right hand on the bottom of the steering wheel. This 2nd generation body style was in the 9th year of production. And every year they just got better and better. This particular car was built in the 4th week of March. One reason for the deep looking paint finish is that it did come off the Norwood line where they were able to use the lacquer paint instead of the environmental friendly paint with clear coats like the California cars came with. 1979 also brought out a brand new instrument cluster that eliminated the wrap around design. When this was designed they went ahead and included the air conditioner vents into the instrument cluster. The reason being, the tooling for the wrap around design wore out and the 3rd generation Camaro was not ready for production yet. This is a beautiful automobile that will make someone a nice car to drive and show. It has an updated radio with AM/FM and a CD player, the original warranty booklet, the build sheet for authenticating the options and fresh Firehawk SS20 tires. This was a record build year, even though it teetered on a gas crisis and problems with a certain peanut farmer. Despite all of that a record 282,582 Camaros were built and 84877 were the Z28's. Most of them are gone now, but this is a remaining shining star. If you want to get into the collector car hobby this is an excellent car to do it with. The price tag is affordable; you will meet some great people, visit some fine locations and just enjoy the beauty of this car. A car like this can also be shown with pride. If you have almost decided on this car, but not quite yet, take a minute and open both doors all the way, then walk back, perhaps 20 feet in front of the nose and turn around, and with those door graphics, you will see a jet getting ready to take off. It will sell you. This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom. For more information, please call (678) 279-1609 or toll free (877) 367-1835.
