If you've been looking for quality restoration on a mid-year Vette, we may have found just the car for you. This 1964 Corvette boasts matching numbers, rare A/C, and a recent resto wearing stunning Riverside Red paint. 1964 was a great year for Corvettes, adding features like disc brakes, knock-off alloy wheels, and refined Muncie manual transmissions. This car's beautiful frame-off restoration was finished in 2002. It shows just 64,015 miles, and although we're told they're original, it's hard to say for sure. Either way, we encourage you to come take a look for yourself. However, once a car has been restored this thorough, original mileage really doesn't matter much anymore. When it's this nice, you'll want to drive it. The Riverside Red paint was popular in 1964, as always, with just almost 5300 Corvettes wearing the hue that year. The workmanship on the restoration is excellent, and while this isn't a Bloomington Gold contender anymore, it's clear that it's much more than just a driver. You can show this one with pride, and perhaps an expectation of winning a trophy at local events, and the detailing is what sets it apart. The gaps are nice, but not too nice, the fit and finish respects the authenticity of the original construction techniques, and the finish doesn't have the look of modern paint, which is critical to a C2 'Vette. Overall, it's a very impressive piece that will get you noticed. Inside, the standard black vinyl interior shows few signs of use, and it fits you like your favorite pair of sneakers. The seats have just the right amount of give, and as you climb in you'll feel welcome and look forward to hitting the road. With everything out on display in a convertible, GM stylists knew they had to nail it the first time, and the twin-cockpit design is still influencing automotive design today. The gauges have an original look, and if they are indeed unrestored, then it speaks volumes about the condition of this car and the car it has received. It carries ultra-rare A/C, a woodgrained steering wheel, power brakes, and now boasts an upgraded AM/FM/cassette stereo system added during the restoration with hidden speakers tucked into the back. Overhead, a black vinyl convertible top looks like new, with a crystal clear rear window, a tight fit, and no wrinkles. Nice! All Corvettes were still small blocks in 1964, with this one carrying its original, numbers-matching L75 327/300 that provides care-free cruising without a lot of off-season tuning required. Of course, any car that weighs just over 3000 pounds and packs 300 horsepower is still a formidable performer, especially when teamed with an M20 4-speed manual transmission. The engine bay was restored to stock condition, which means Chevy Orange on the block, heads, and tin, with a chrome air cleaner lid and distributor shield. The original Frigidaire A6 compressor, power brake booster, and ram's horn exhaust manifolds add to the authentic look. The chassis is extremely clean, with rebuilt suspension and brakes, a correct exhaust system, and beautiful knock-off alloy wheels wearing reproduction redline radials. This is an opportunity to own an iconic Corvette with a great pedigree, quality restoration, and desirable options. What are you waiting for? Call today!
