Some of the perks that a wife has when she is married to an industrialist in the automotive industry is a choice of his wares. When you look at this stylish 1931- code #55B Model A Ford - Tudor Sedan you might think that this would be typical car that Eleanor would take her girlfriends out to tea on a nice summer afternoon. Take a look at the colors going on here. A rare black vinyl top over a fashionable aqua green color with a black band going down the beltline and topped off with an Aurora red pin stripe dividing the band in half. And all of this on top of some nice looking body colored spoke wheels. And that was on the outside. In the interior she would have treated her girlfriends to a comfortable tan Bedford cord seat covers on top of carpeting. In 1931 it wouldn't get any better than this. This car was ordered with the Deluxe option so you will see cowl lights, dome light, rear seat armrests, carpets, stripe on the inner gas tank, front seat tracks and outside mounted mirrors. Also included were oil and gasoline gauges, 2 windshield wipers, inside mirror, rear and stop lights, electric start and dash light. This car is powered by the L -4 cylinder, 'cast en bloc' type with a 200.5cid motor that produced 40hp and was mated to a 3-speed manual transmission. Power is delivered to the rear wheels by a 3.77:1 gear. The brakes are 4 wheel mechanical and Houdaille, double action hydraulic shock absorbers with semi-elliptical front and rear transverse springs. The undercarriage looks excellent. Seat belts and turn signals were added for safety measures. Among some nice touches is a pair of eyebrows for the headlamps. It is reported that this car has only had 3 owners. The current owner won a 2005 Participation Award that was given to him at the annual winterfest by the MAFCA chapter in Georgia. The paint is still in nice shape, the interior is in good shape and tires are fresh. Henry brought back the Model A to replace the Model T after a 20 something year absence. 10 body styles were offered, including the commercial vehicles. This Tudor Sedan style was very popular then and after 80 some years, it still is today. This car is pretty, in great shape and is ready for some fun. Please consider this baby to start your collection or add to it. There are many Ford clubs still out there today and they stay very active. Events almost every weekend. Parts and tools are readily available as well as help from the gear heads. The fit and finish is amazing. Consider stopping by and looking at this beauty. You just might want to call your Eleanor and tell her you are picking her up and taking her out for lunch in something very special. This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom.
