Out in the open is this beautiful 1930 code #66B - Ford Model A Cabriolet with a glossy black over a fresh looking taupe leather interior and to finish everything off are 6 - code #YS314 Tacoma Cream wheels. As with most Model A's the power comes from an L - 4 cylinder, 'cast en bloc' type with a 200.5cid motor that produced 40hp and is mated to a 3-speed manual transmission. Gasoline is fed through a well-known Zenith one-barrel carburetor. Power was fed to the rear wheels by 3.77:1 gears. To stop this Cabriolet are 4-wheel mechanical brakes and Houdailee, double action hydraulic shock absorbers with semi-elliptic front and rear transverse springs. And yes - it took all of this so slow them down. This one comes with many extras. Some include 2 spare tires with protective covers, cowl lights, electric start, inside mirror, side mounted mirrors on the spare tires and one fastened to the door frame, a windshield wiper, oil, ampere and gasoline gauges, an interior heater that operates off the manifold and safety glass and much more. The owner has manufactured a brand new custom suitcase for the luggage rack that will go with the car. It appears that all body panels are the original and no signs of rust or bondo. Paint is above average. Interior and rumble seat and top are all in great shape. Fit and finish are excellent. Tires are fresh. Little touches like the spotlight, eyebrows over the headlamps, windscreen deflector add nice touches. With his son, Edsel, pushing to move the Model T out of production and design and build a "New Ford" the order was finally given on July 20th, 1926 to start work on a new Ford, the "Model A", although that designation had not been authorized. The last Model T's came off the line on May 26th, 1927. It was car number 15,000,000. It was said that Henry spent 100 million dollars on the new model. The first Model A rolled off the Rouge line on October 20th, 1927. This one came off the same line 4 years later. There continues to be a great support for these cars. Hardly a day goes by without seeing one out on the road. If Model A's are new to you or you are considering an addition to your collection this would be a good one to buy. There are many Ford clubs still out there today and are very active. They have events almost every weekend. There are many tools and parts still available and the MAFCA is of great help. Little has to be done to this car. Call us today so a sales associate can walk you through this car. This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom.
