Aston Martin Racing Green with Brown leather race bucket seats, approximately 10,000 miles since complete and thorough restoration.

This DB3, Serial # DB3/6, Engine # DP/101/22 is one of only ten DB3ĺs produced, logically numbered DB3/1 through DB3/10. These were the first true "Space-Frame" Sports-Racers from the company that was now under David Brown's sole ownership. Originally with 2.5-liter and then later 3.0-liter, twin-cam, six-cylinder engines, these were remarkably nimble and exciting vehicles. The cars were campaigned by both the Aston "Works" Team as well as privateers. They had a remarkable string of racing successes not equaled until the debut of the more advanced DB3/S of 1955/56. Their record of class and outright victories throughout the early 1950s gave Aston the confidence to move ahead in their design and development culminating in their ultimate victory in 1959 at the 24 Hours of Le Mans using their all conquering DBR1.

This DB3 was sold in 2006 to one of the now, new owners of Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd. It has since been fully serviced and prepped for both show and vintage rallying-touring. It won 1st in class at the 2006 Amelia Island Concour prior to going to Italy for the Mille Miglia Retrospective (where I very much enjoyed driving it!), it competed and completed the 2007 Mille Miglia without a single problem. Once returned from the Mille Miglia, this DB3 was prepped thoroughly and prepared for this past years 2007 Pebble Beach Concour where it was awarded 3rd in class.
