Old Cadillac ragtops are so cool, they even age with class. This 1967 DeVille convertible is in just the right condition for dramatic entrances, long road trips, and high-end summertime fun. Black over red is stunning, and while it isn't a show piece, it is most definitely a show stopper. The important thing to note is that this car has never been rusty-it's solid throughout, and even the chassis is as clean as you'd expect from a 45-year-old piece. The black paint looks dramatic, which makes the body seem about a mile long thanks to pointed quarter panels that leave no question about what kind of car this is. It looks good even from 10 feet away, with a decent gloss, good body fit, and plenty of chrome trim to dress it up. Yeah, there are a few signs of use here and there, but for a Cadillac, that means character, and this is a car you can drive cross-country without worrying about dust or road rash. In the movies, you'd see a car like this driven by the hero, a guy with his own set of rules who loved the Caddy for what it represented, not for what it is today. That's a kind of cool you can't restore into a car, it has to be EARNED. If you're looking to make grand entrances, the red interior is your best bet. Like a red bow tie with your tuxedo, it gives the Caddy a playful attitude that still exudes luxury. As far as we can determine, it's 100% original, including the seats, door panels, and even the carpets, which are now starting to show some wear. Accommodations are first class all the way, with a power front bench, power windows, tilt wheel, and a new Eclipse stereo system hidden in the glove box and speakers scattered throughout the car. Overhead, there's a recent black convertible top that powers down in seconds, and the trunk, with its custom speaker enclosure, is remarkably OEM-looking. Cadillac's big 429 cubic inch V8 is luxury car smooth, and pulls with enough torque to get all that sheetmetal moving with an effortless ease. One of the most reliable powerplants to ever come out of GM, it has a smooth, powerful hum thanks to a dual exhaust system, and fires up quickly. The block still wears original Cadillac Blue paint, that's a factory air cleaner up top, and experts will note options like cruise control and A/C, which are always nice to have in your luxury cruiser. The transmission is a rugged 3-speed automatic that shifts properly, letting the big V8 use its torque to get the car moving instead of hastily swapping gears. As I mentioned, the chassis is clean, and rolls on a set of Goodyear radials wrapped around a set of late-model wire hubcaps. A big Cadillac convertible isn't just transportation, it's a lifestyle, and the imperfections aren't demerits, they're a bonus. Get your daily dose of cool and call us today.
