For a car that you can get in and drive cross-country any time, it's hard to beat a '50s Chevy with a fresh small block under the hood. This 1958 Bel Air hardtop is an excellent example of Chevy's 1-year-wonder, fully rebuilt and ready to cruise this summer. Traditional hot-rodding tricks are even cooler when you find them in unexpected places. For example, dig the louvered hood on this Bel Air, a timeless upgrade that not only looks cool, but is totally functional as well. Of course, the bright Rio Red and Snowshoe White paint job adds to the '50s cool factor, and it has been beautifully rendered using modern paint technology, so the shine is dazzling. The sheetmetal is 100% original and incredibly straight, emphasizing the intricate contours of the rear quarters. And although it has been lightly customized, all the original trim remains intact, including the dramatic stainless side trim which has been fully polished, and the enormous bumpers which wear fresh chrome. We have hundreds of cars in the showroom, but somehow this red and white Bel Air stands out. Nice! Someone just spent a small fortune on an all-new red interior, which duplicates the original patterns and materials without any deviations from stock. The seats feature new foam underneath, making them all-day comfortable, and fresh red carpets brighten the interior. Bright new door panels echo the shape of the quarter panels, and bring the exterior color scheme inside, so it's not red overload, and the simple steering wheel is surprisingly subtle for the extroverted '50s. The original gauges have been rebuilt and work as they should, with a digital AM/FM radio fitted in the original location. The trunk is impressively clean, with a new rubber mat and an original style bias-ply spare tire on an original steel wheel. A lot of guys claim their cars can be driven anywhere, but this car actually delivers on the promise. With a recently installed 350 crate motor featuring an Edelbrock carburetor and intake, it's the most reliable form of transportation since the horse. Chrome pieces like the louvered air cleaner and simple valve covers make this an engine bay you'll be proud to show, while functional upgrades like power disc brakes, power steering, and a TH350 3-speed automatic make it a pleasure to drive. The chassis is original and super sanitary, there's no sign of rust or frame damage, and the original rear end still takes care of delivering the power. A dual exhaust system hugs the X-frame and uses glasspack-style mufflers for a traditional '50s performance sound, terminating in a pair of polished tips just below the rear bumper. Polished American Racing Torque Thrust wheels finish the period hot rod look, and wear 195/70/15 blackwalls that really stuff the wheelwells. Someone spent a ton of money on this car, creating something unique without going over the top. With just 8000 miles on the rebuild, this Bel Air is ready to hit the road this summer. Call today!
