Engine Specifications: 4,390 CC SOHC V-12 Engine 3 Weber 40DFI/5 Carburetors 320 BHP at 6,600 RPM 5-Speed Manual Gearbox 4-Wheel Ventilated Disc Brakes 4-Wheel Independent Suspension About this Car: The 365 GT 2 2 was introduced in 1967 at the Paris Salon as the successor to the 330 GT 2 2. The most notable enhancements to the car were also Ferrari firsts and included power- assisted steering and hydraulic self-leveling rear suspension. More importantly, the GT 2 2 continued to carry similar lines as the 500 Superfast, perhaps the most iconic of the large GT cars of the previous era. The bodies of these cars were constructed at Pininfarina and then sent to Ferrari for final assembly. This particular 365 GT 2 2 was originally finished in Rosso Rubino with black leather upholstery and fitted with Borrani wire wheels. The striking new Gran Tourismo was sent to the West Coast of the US, where it was sold to its first owner by Griswold and Company of Berkeley, California. Keeping the car at his home in Alamo, the first owner sold it after only three years. Subsequently acquired by Donald and Diane Roberts of California?s Bay Area, the GT 2 2 had covered just 8,500 miles at the time of purchase. The couple soon joined the Ferrari Club of America and the 365 saw frequent use, as well as spirited outings several times a year including participation in the Virginia City Hill Climb and track events at Laguna Seca. Mr. and Mrs. Roberts thoroughly enjoyed the 365 GT 2 2 over approximately two decades, accruing some 55,000 miles. With just over 60,000 miles on the odometer, the car was sent to Ferrari and Lamborghini specialist Bill Morton of Redwood City, California, where it received an engine overhaul. Two years later, in 1991, Mr. and Mrs. Roberts relocated and drove the Ferrari up the coast to Seattle. The decision was then made to repaint the car in its original color of Rosso Rubino, and Queen City Auto Rebuild in Redmond, Washington, took on the project. The 365 has remained well cared for and the wonderful original condition of the car is a testament to the four-decade single ownership. With well-kept, quality paintwork and a very original interior, with the exception of the front seats that have been recently retrimmed, the car presents exceptionally well. Regular drives and maintenance has preserved the Ferrari?s great drivability and the consignor states that, on a recent outing, the car drove superbly. Offered with both sets of original tools and the original manuals, this 365 GT 2 2 offers a known history and significant originality. This 4.4 liter V-12 is a significant Gran Tourismo automo- bile ready for further FCA event participation.
