Engine Specifications: 4,390 CC DOHC V-12 Engine Six Weber 40DCN21/A Twin-Choke Carburetors 352 BHP at 7,500 RPM 5-Speed Manual Transaxle 4-Wheel Disc Brakes 4-Wheel Independent Wishbone Suspension with Coil Springs About this Car: This beautiful example of Pininfarina?s brilliantly designed Daytona Berlinetta offers originality and minimal use to result in a benchmark-quality car. According to noted Ferrari historian Marcel Massini, this Daytona completed assembly at the factory on March 9, 1973, despite the fact that door trim data suggests it was scheduled for production the preceding November. Chassis 16447 was fitted with coachwork by renowned coachbuilders Scaglietti and handsomely finished in Argento Metallizzato (metallic silver) paint. Handsomely complemented with a Nero (black) interior of Connolly leather, the Daytona was also desirably optioned with power windows and factory air-conditioning. As a US-specification export model, the car was equipped with American-style features including pop-up headlamps, external side-view mirror and left-hand drive, and was dispatched for distribution in March 1973 to Chinetti- Garthwaite Importers in Paoli, Pennsylvania. In 1976, 16447 was advertised for sale by Robert Mannick of Buffalo, New York, who is believed to be the original owner. At that time, the Daytona displayed 10,000 miles and featured a custom stereo. The car was purchased shortly after by Stan Zagorski of Mount Tremper, New York, who proved to be the Ferrari?s most ardent driver. By the time Mr. Zagorski offered the Daytona for sale in 1989, it had been repainted in red and had accrued 37,600 miles. Soon after being purchased by Dennis McCann of Westerville, Ohio, 16447 entered a long period of ownership marked by minimal use and dutiful care. Mr. McCann retained the car for close to 15 years before finally selling it in late 2004, at which time the odometer still displayed just 37,649 miles. Briefly entering the collection of a Colorado-based owner, 16447 was acquired in 2005 by Richard Standage of Moorpark, California, displaying only 38,153 miles on the odometer. Mr. Standage took great pride in his Daytona, which was reflected in his registration of personalized tags that read ?FER GTB4.? In late 2010, 16447 was acquired by its current owner, well-known collector and enthusiast Wayne Carini, who regularly contributes his expertise to collector car television programs. Utilizing the experienced craftsmen of his personal restoration facility F40 Motorsports, Mr. Carini treated this stylish GTB/4 Berlinetta to a bare-metal repaint in the original color of metallic silver. The work returned the car to a desirable and original presentation, complementing the gently patinated interior and well-kept engine bay with stunning exterior cosmetics. Currently displaying less than 40,000 miles, this striking GTB/4 Daytona has accrued only approximately 2,244 miles since 1989. During that period, the car was routinely maintained and serviced as needed, resulting in sharp mechanical performance. The fresh silver paint has been fastidiously polished and the engine bay has been detailed for a lovely cosmetic presentation. Still equipped with correct five-spoke knock-off alloy wheels and accompanied by a tool kit, manuals and paperwork recording its sale when new, this beautifully presented Daytona is a true standout. Its next owner can begin the quest to Cavallino with presentation at local concours and FCA events, or simply enjoy the legendary V-12 performance with striking jet-set Pininfarina styling. This Daytona is a faithful embodiment of the iconic design that remains one of Ferrari?s most timeless and revered models.
