With only 12 factory lightweight E-types built, the opportunity to own and drive one comes only to a special few of us. A well-built replica like this provides an opportunity to enjoy an iconic road racing car without putting millions at risk. In the 1980s, this 1963 E-Type roadster was converted to lightweight specifications with factory assistance. The car ran the Targa Florio twice. It was granted F.I.A. papers and spent most of its life in Belgium and The Netherlands. It has a full roll cage, aluminum bonnet, trunk lid, hard top and doors. It had Dunlop racing wheels with street tires. There is a 4.2-liter, triple Weber engine with tuned exhaust putting out an estimated 325hp installed now. A fresh 3.8-liter engine can be substituted and will be installed at no extra cost if desired. The gearbox is a modern, 5-speed unit. This car is absolutely stunning. A former owner described it as a "lovely brute." It is perfect for vintage racing or vintage tours. |
