The ultimative big boys toy!

The AGF (nick for: reconnaissance and combat vehicle) or SERVAL (in the nomenclatura of the German Bundeswehr) is a special forces vehicle based on the MERCEDES G 270 (type W461). German special operation forces KSK (Kommando Spezial Kräfte) are using the AGF until today for long range reconnaissance patrols. Fully armoured the AGF contains the following weapon systems: 1 x Heckler & Koch GMG 40 mm grenade launcher mounted on a Rheinmetal 609K weapon station and 2 x Rheinmetall MG3 7,62 x 51 mm general purpose machine guns mounted on swing arms (one facing to the front - one towards the rear). The SERVAL is air-transportable and ready for loading inside a Sikorsky CH-53 heavy-lift transport helicopter or a CH-147 Chinook helicopter.

During the development of the SERVAL NATO logistics were taken into account. Thus it is based on the chassis and the running gear of the W461 model of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class. The gross vehicle weight rating (up to 5.2 tons) and wheelbase (3290mm) of the SERVAL are both higher than that of the normal G-Class. The front compartement with dashboard, engine, frame and axles are all OEM Mercedes-Benz parts, whereas the complete rear compartment together with the underbody and the rollbar were tailor-made by special coachbuilder BINZ. The rollbar is extremly sturdy and provides not just roll-over protection - it's built to carry a heavy machine gun up to calibre 50. The SERVAL is four-wheel driven and is powered by the 2.7 litres 5-cylinder Diesel engine (OM612.966) capable of producing 156 horsepower (116 kW) and nearly 400NM of torque as low as 1400rpm. The engine is low grade fuel tolerant, and complies with the Euro 3 emission standards. The transmission is a Mercedes-Benz Tiptronic 5-speed automatic transmission. The maximum speed of this particular SERVAL is around 170 kilometres (105 mi) per hour as the 120 kilometre speed limiter has been deprogammed and it has got fast axles with a 4.11 diff.-ratio.

A total of 26 SERVAL's (21 for German KSK, 4 for the Swiss AAD command and this proto) were ever built. Of those, two were already lost in action. This one was used by Rheinmetall as a prototype to adapt their weapon systems. It is the only one which made it into private hands.

The car has a german registration and there is an extensive documentation (both in pictures and a great many pages of technical description). None of the weapon systems shown in picture #1 (taken from Rheinmetalls public anouncement of the LIV) are part of this offer. It will be sold completely demilitarised.

This G is ultra rare - there won't be a second one available on the market!
