Quickly gaining traction as first-rate collectables, the early second-generation "split bumper" Camaros are definitely cool. This '73 has been given the full Z/28 tribute treatment, and sports a few noteworthy upgrades that make it an awesome cruiser that can still put a hurt on more modern hardware. Sophisticated is one way to describe the look on this '73, with its dark blue paint job and awesome white SS stripes. During the build, it also got a tall cowl-induction hood, a ducktail spoiler, and a few choice Z/28 badges that will make any competitor think twice. The workmanship is quite good, and with a dark color like this, you can't afford to cut corners. Details are crisp, such as the crease that stretches from front to back, and the gaps are accurate. Plenty of metallic makes it glitter in the sun, and it will definitely stand out from all the red and black Camaros at the next cruise-in. The most iconic feature, that big grille with two small bumpers on either side, is in excellent condition, and the bumpers themselves are shiny and straight. The original stainless trim has been polished, adding to the contrast against the dark blue finish. The sumptuous black bucket seat interior is every bit as comfortable as it looks. With newer seat covers, clean carpets, and beautifully finished door panels, it looks fresh and tidy with none of the usual trouble spots these cars often carry. The wrap-around instrument panel is full of gauges, including the original speedometer, correct tachometer, the factory-issued faux wood trim. A Hurst cue ball shifter atop the 4-speed manual is a rare thing to see in one of these cars, and it is fitted to a correct center console. Alpine supplied the AM/FM/CD stereo head unit, which feeds a variety of speakers throughout the interior, offering a big improvement in audio performance compared to the original AM unit. The nicely finished trunk offers a reproduction trunk mat and a space-saver spare with jack assembly. That cowl induction hood hides a snarling 350 cubic inch small block that has been fortified with all the good stuff. A Victor Jr. intake uses a Holley 4-barrel to make horsepower, and long-tube headers fatten up the torque curve and sound awesome. A MSD ignition system, with its brain protected in the passenger compartment, lights the spark and gives the engine a ripping exhaust note that both intimidating, and extremely pleasing to listen to when you're rolling up to your local cruise night. Chrome dress-up items like the valve covers and air cleaner add some flash, along with bright yellow plug wires that really pop against the dark blue paint. Underneath, the floors are solid, and subframe connectors have been added to reinforce the structure, a difference you can really feel from behind the driver's seat. Traction bars on the rear springs help it hook up, and fat Goodyears on Rally wheels do their part. Make no mistake, these second-gen Camaros are only going up from here. Call today!
