1925 Citroën 5 HP torpedo "Clover," Super-head

"Little Lemon": the nickname is easy to run if in 1921 the new Citroën resplendent in his yellow dress with black wings. André Citroën wanted to make the 5 HP a "real" car, not a summary cyclecar capable of meeting the needs of those who do not have the means to acquire a 10 horsepower, or who merely two seats the new model. Well-designed, economical, robust and a sympathetic figure and balanced, 5 HP to quickly find an enviable popularity. First proposed two-seater roadster, the range will be enriched by a convertible, then a body in three squares offset (including a folding seat) and finally, the famous three-seat roadster in clover. Contrary to legend, the 5 HP are not all a "Clover" version which is also now very rare. That is why we are pleased to present this Citroën 5 HP which is just a three-seat roadster in clover. Its authenticity is beyond doubt, as evidenced by the manufacturing method which can be seen by opening the chests.

This car was purchased by Prince Rainier in Grenoble, in the 1970s, probably during a trip to the region. It is equipped with a kit "Super-head," particularly interesting. Marketed by Mr. Desprez and designed by engineer Causan, it was developed first for the B2 and allowed to transform the distribution side tumbled, which improves engine performance. It is rare today to see a car equipped with this device. Moreover, this 5 HP to "rounded wings" presentation is very correct, with a color corresponding to the color of time and a faux black interior redone. It includes his coat, which unfolds over the cockpit. With three seats in clover and special cylinder head, this 5 HP is particularly interesting and cannot fail to seduce the connoisseur.
