Ever looked at those trucks in magazines and wonder how you could own one? You probably figured it would cost tens of thousands of dollars, and you'd be right. However this gorgeous 1958 Chevy 3100 pickup is available for a fraction of the build cost, and has already won some pretty serious awards, so you know it's just as nice as it looks. At first glance, you might think this is a nice, subtle Butternut Yellow pickup, but look closely-there are ghost flames that only show up when the light is just right. And that's just the beginning of the tricks applied to this gorgeous 3100. Of course, the bodywork is incredible and the guys who put it together worked overtime to deliver a show-winning finish. Note the use of a late-model stepside bed which fits so well and flows so nicely with the original cab that you may have overlooked it at first. That bed was upholstered in black carpet and topped by a hard tonneau cover, effectively making it the world's biggest trunk. All the original trim that remains was restored to show condition, and they didn't go nuts trying to erase the original designers' vision. Instead, it's ultra-clean with small details that will keep you looking for more. A Ford Thunderbird gave its life for the interior, which features leather-wrapped buckets, with the driver's side being power-adjustable. Matching door panels are Rod Door items that are a nice upgrade over the standard Chevy metal panels, and the entire dash has been color-matched to the interior. All the modern conveniences were added (that's how you win the trophies, you know), including Vintage Air A/C and a thumping AM/FM/CD stereo system with speakers scattered throughout the cab. Dolphin gauges are nestled into a custom billet insert that fits the stock instrument panel, and are clearly visible through the spokes of the leather-wrapped wheel which appears to be from a late-model Camaro. The engine is a 402 cubic inch big block backed by a TH400 automatic transmission and a 1979 Camaro 10-bolt out back. That same 1979 Camaro also donated its front suspension and power disc brakes, and then it was all detailed to show-winning condition. The engine wears enough chrome to restore a '58 Buick, but it's not just pretty, it's potent thanks to an Edelbrock 4-barrel carb, block-hugger headers, and a pair of Flowmasters. The front suspension, as I mentioned, is from a Camaro, while the rear end hangs on a set of coil-over shocks and a custom 4-link. There's a massive radiator, as well as a cooler for the transmission, so you shouldn't be afraid to drive it, and the modestly-sized radials on chrome steelies with baby moon hubcaps ride better than any truck has a right to. Available for pennies on the dollar compared to the build price, this is a show truck that you can park in your own garage today. Just give us a call! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom.
