At first glance, you may be thinking that this is just another clean C10. But get closer and you'll see a ton of work done at the detail level, all of which elevates this 1971 Chevy pickup to an entirely new class. You can't go wrong with bright red bodywork, and the short bed/regular cab setup is the sports car of pickup trucks, so it's fitting. The sheetmetal is in excellent condition, with good panel alignment and expert prep and paint that makes this truck sparkle. Looking a little more carefully, however, you'll note a blacked-out grille reminiscent of certain SS models in the Chevy lineup. In back, the tailgate has been smoothed for a trick custom look and the bright chrome bumpers have been snugged up close to the bodywork. The bed is still ready, willing, and able to work, thanks to a sprayed-in bed liner that wraps around the rails for extra protection. These trucks didn't have a lot of chrome or trim to begin with, so the tidy lines of the body aren't spoiled by too much jewelry, leaving just an ultra-clean truck that looks like a million bucks. The sports car theme continues inside with diamond-tufted bucket seats that look straight out of a vintage Bentley. Infinitely more adjustable then the original bench, they're incredibly stylish and comfortable enough for a cross-country jaunt or to carry you home at the end of a long day. Fresh black carpets are protected by custom embroidered floor mats and the gauges look so crisp and sharp under crystal clear lenses that I have to believe they've been restored. A set of Sunpro auxiliary gauges has been fitted under the center stack, just below the original heater controls and newer AM/FM/cassette stereo head unit. There's also a sliding rear window, and if you've never owned a truck with one of these, you're in for a pleasant surprise when you find out how well it keeps the cabin cool while you drive. The engine is a recently refreshed 350 cubic inch V8 wearing fresh paint and a highly polished look. An Edelbrock intake and matching chrome valve covers and air cleaner dress it up, while braided stainless hose covers for the heater hoses keep with the sports car theme, too. It snaps to life with a single turn of the key and offers a suitably powerful exhaust note, thanks to long-tube headers and glasspack-style mufflers underneath. It's backed by a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission linked to the original rear end, so the hardware is still rugged enough to do a little hard work. These trucks featured an interesting coil spring rear suspension that uses long control arms for axle control, and the result is that it rides far better than the more common leaf-sprung units on other pickups. Classic slotted mags are period-perfect for this 1971 Chevy, and white-letter radials fill the wheelwells. A cool truck that is far more than meets the eye, yet still practical. Call today!
