Known History

2004 Porsche Carrera GT

VIN: WPOCA29814L001094

GT Silver Metallic with Ascot Brown Leather

Originally built as a concept car to showcase Porsche’s new 10-cylinder engine, the Carrera GT was not committed to production until the car’s enthusiastic public reception at the 2000 Geneva Motorshow. Unlike the 959, the Carrera GT was a completely new design from the ground up, and the car is visually and technologically stunning. Technological features include carbon fiber monocoque and bodywork, remote pushrod-actuated suspension, carbon ceramic brakes and clutch, and of course the dry sump 5.7 liter V10 engine, which produces 612hp. The engine uses closed deck architecture and has extremely low reciprocating mass, which, combined with the balance of a 10-cylinder layout, results in an impressive 8400rpm redline. The performance is shocking, with 0-60mph in 3.5 seconds, and a top speed of 205mph, which is safely managed by the carefully designed aerodynamics. 1,270 Carrera GT’s were built, of which 604 came to the United States.

This particular example has just 7,596 miles, and two owners from new. It is in outstanding overall condition, having been well cared for by its mature, enthusiast owners. It has been desirably equipped with air conditioning, power windows, and the Porsche Pro CD player and navigational system with Bose stereo sound. Purchased new from Jackie Cooper Porsche, of Tulsa Oklahoma, and acquired by its current owner in late-2009 with approximately 7,100 miles. Just prior to that this example was treated to the installation of a new clutch and the replacement of the purge-control and shut-off valves- the only two recommendations the Porsche dealer could make to better this already magnificent car. It has also enjoyed an even more recent service by a Porsche dealer in preparation for sale. It is a truly turnkey, “needs nothing” automobile, and we welcome a pre-purchase inspection to confirm this.

Cosmetically speaking, this Carrara GT is virtually impossible to fault. The silver metallic paint shows exceptionally well, and benefits from the installation a front-end clear bra, which ensures that future owners may drive the car with the confidence that minor rock chips will not result from occasional use. Even the lower section of the front valance, which is often scratched or chipped, is untouched on this example. The interior is immaculate, as would be expected of an exceedingly well kept, enthusiast owned, low mileage car. There is not the least bit of wear evident, even on the driver’s seat bolster. Both the front stowage area and the engine bay are also in immaculate condition, and representative of a new car.

Accompanied by its original manuals and a factory tool kit, a three ring binder containing a clean Carfax report, records for work performed, and the original window sticker, this sensational Carrera GT is a two-owner car that offers its next custodian long-term appreciation as one of Porsche’s most sophisticated supercars. While it invites future owners to indulge in spirited track days with fellow members of the Porsche Club of America, it is equally at home on display at local concours events and supercar shows, or on long jaunts on smooth, open roads.

This is an excellent opportunity to acquire an extremely clean well-maintained Carrera GT at a figure well-below the car’s original $448,300 price. It is very complete, well-optioned, and every bit as stunning as when it was new.
