Known History

The Chevrolet Corvette is without doubt America’s most popular sports car. Born in 1953 the Corvette has gone through many iterations and is a brand now recognised throughout the world. The early Corvettes are becoming sought-after by collectors and enthusiasts alike and the increasing value of these cars has meant that many are undergoing comprehensive nut and bolt restorations.

The first generation or C1 series cars were produced from 1953 to 1962 and are often referred to as the ‘straight axel’ cars because independent rear suspension was not introduced until 1963 on the second generation or C2 series cars. 1962 was an important year for the Corvette. Not only was it the last year of the C1 series cars as noted above, it was the first year of the legendary 327 cubic inch engine.

We are delighted to offer a 1962 Chevrolet Corvette 327/360 hp ‘Fuelie’. This top spec Corvette features the desirable 4 speed manual transmission, fuel injection and the car is fitted with a factory hard top. This matching numbers car was treated to a frame off concours restoration in the USA that was completed in September 2006. The car was purchased by the current owner and imported to Australia back in 2007.

This multi award winning car comes with a thick history file which includes the original invoice for the delivery of the car when new, an original owners manual, an assembly manual and servicing guide.
