Talk about a lot of truck for not a lot of money! Someone clearly spent a great deal of effort making this 1979 Chevy C10 stepside look this good, from the icy blue paint to the highly detailed engine bay. We sell a lot of these, but not many are as nice as this one. Most of these trucks ended up working for a living, but judging from the looks of this one, it was never a tradesman's work vehicle or someone's beater. Instead, it's a very clean, solid truck with a lot of nice upgrades that make it ideal for local shows and cruise nights. The paint is most definitely attention getting simply because of its quality-there's a ton of time and effort wrapped up in getting this one straight. Two-stage urethane gives it an incredible shine , and nothing looks better than those fat rear fenders with big tires stuffed underneath. Between those fenders, you'll find a lovely oak bed, which is the truck's most appealing feature. All the original stainless trim is in place and looks great, as does the front bumper and grille. Inside, a stock-style blue fabric interior has been stitched to cover up the truck's working class bones. The original bench seat feels firm thanks to fresh foam underneath, and newer carpets replace original rubber mats to take it up a few notches and help control NVH inside. Door panels and the dash pad appear to be original, and for entertainment, there's an AM/FM/cassette stereo in the dash and big, honkin' speakers in the door panels that sound great. Finally, the tilt steering column is topped by a wood-rimmed steering wheel from Grant. And while there's factory A/C that works like it should, there's also a sliding rear window that really creates a pleasant breeze inside, rendering the A/C unnecessary on all but the hottest days. Under the hood, you'll find a 454 cubic inch Chevy V8 that has been dressed to look like it just jumped out of a vintage big block Chevelle. There's an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor up top and a set of Flowmaster mufflers handling the exhaust, so this isn't a stock, wheezing 1979 V8, but one that moves the relatively lightweight truck with real authority. You'll also notice that there's factory A/C, power steering and brakes, and lots of new componentry under the hood. Behind the engine is a TH400 3-speed automatic that is part of an exceptionally clean undercarriage, and drives the stock rear end. The suspension gives the truck just the right stance, and it rides on 15-inch Pacer aluminum wheels with 235/75/15 front and 265/70/15 rear Hankook white-letter radials. Look at the details throughout this truck, and then take another look at the price tag. As we said, this is a lot of truck for the money, and you would be hard-pressed to find another one this clean. With great features like A/C and that inviting interior, it's a truck you can comfortably drive cross-country, and the timeless shape will always be popular.
