Known History

The V8 Vantage model was shown at the 2005 Geneva Motor Show, being introduced for the 2006 model year. It featured a boned aluminium body powered by a 4300cc quad cam 32 valve engine producing 380hp.

In 2006 Aston Martin Racing built the Vantage N24 which was entered in that years Nurburgring 24 Hour Race, where it finished 24th overall. Alongside AMR developing the N24, Prodrive prepared the Vantage V8 Rally GT model. This made its debut on the Lyon-Charbonniers Rhone Rally in April 2006, finishing 2nd in the GT class. The rally car features a roll cage, Eibach springs, EXE-TC dampers, whilst the engine is tuned to give 420hp. Two Rally GTs were raced by the star drivers at the 2006 Race of Champions in Paris.

The Rally GT which we offer is one of only four built by Prodrive. It was originally a pre-production model which was an Aston Martin press car. It was then prepared by Prodrive as the spare car for the 2006 Race of Champions. For 2007 it was entered by Procar in the Trofeo d’Italia Rally GT Championship. However their entry was withdrawn before the start of the first round, the Mille Miglia.

The car returned to the UK in 2009 and was sold to its next UK owner later that year. Since then it has raced in AMOC in N24 spec following work by David Appleby which included changing the springs and fully adjustable rose jointed suspension. In 2010 the car was driven by Stig Blomqvist and Keith Cronin at the RaceRetro Show.

Preparation and new brakes ready for 2012 season by David Appleby, seats and belts in date. Power is given as 440bhp driving through six-speed gearbox. Eligible for FIA GT class in rallies, Irish rallies, Aston Martin N24 class racing although it may require a change of dampers for AM UK GT4 championship.
