Known History

This one owner Dakar Yellow M3 was supplied new by Holland Park BMW London in May 1996. It has always been serviced by them and shows just 33000 miles.

The original E30 model M3 was unveiled in 1985 having been developed by BMW Motorsport as a homologation special. In order that the car could compete in Touring Car Racing under the group A rules, it was a requirement to build 5000 identical cars in a year.

From 1992 the E30 M3 was superseded by the E36 model with its completely revised styling and chassis. The M3 was now powered by a 3 litre straight six engine and a right hand drive version was available for the first time. In 1994 a 4 door saloon joined the coupe and convertible models. Late in 1995 the engine was enlarged to 3.2 litres and mated to a 6 speed gearbox. For the UK market this car was called the Evolution to distinguish it from the earlier 3 litre car.
