You can always tell when an old vehicle has led a good life. They keep their original paint and interior, and mechanically they're always A-1, perhaps with a few upgrades to improve their performance along the way. This 1976 Bronco still works well as a daily driver or even an oversized off-road toy that's still plenty potent in the dirt. Yes, that's the original Medium Ivy Bronze paint, and it looks fantastic. 1976 Broncos got a new dÚcor package that included the wide body tape stripes that frame the wheel wells, giving it a fresh look. As a clean, southern vehicle, all the sheetmetal is in great shape with no rot, and if this one has been off-road, it's been many years, with no signs it's every been abused or bashed. The paint offers a period patina with a soft gloss, the tape stripes are in great shape, and with some light elbow grease this truck could once again get a whole new lease on life. The only real wear you'll find is on the hood & a few trim pieces here and there as you walk around the car. While the current owner was tempted to repaint & replace them, he knew it would destroy the originality that helps make this one so special. You'll likely feel the same way yourself once you're behind the wheel. Another interesting part of its history is the fender flares - a set of rear fender flares appear to have been added in the past, but it doesn't appear that there ever were front fender flares on this particular truck. Perhaps this is just another link to the wild '70s in which it was born. The removable hardtop is contrasting white and it's a color combination not to go out of style anytime soon. After a few years of no color options inside, this '76 Bronco got a matching green bucket seat interior. With cloth inserts, the seats are grippy and comfortable, but easy to climb in and out of, which is critical on a lifted vehicle. The olive green carpets are original, too, and they're clean and show only light fading, so you know it's been well-maintained all its life. A custom wheel and an AM/FM/CD player are the lone modifications inside, although it's worth noting that the stereo is disconnected to prevent battery drain during storage. A column-mounted shifter for the C4 automatic was standard equipment, along with a floor shifter for the 2-speed transfer case. Even the tailgate is carpeted, indicating that Ford was feeling the heat from younger competitors in the market and worked hard to civilize the little Bronco. The 302 cubic inch V8 was the sole engine choice in 1976, but it's the right one. With plenty of torque and a neat V8 sound that's unexpected from your average truck, it moves easily through traffic, and with the low range afforded by the two-speed transfer case, it'll crawl along barely off idle without complaint. The transmission has been recently rebuilt and there are new fuel lines throughout, so it's ready to drive and enjoy immediately. You'll also find new hoses as well as a power steering cooler, which is probably quite useful when the going gets rough. A mild Rancho lift kit has given it impressive off-road prowess, and while it's not sparkling clean underneath, it definitely looks loved and well-maintained, which is the whole point. Stylish aluminum wheels are fitted with big 33x12.50-15 Nitto all-terrain tires that really give it a great profile. Early Broncos were collectable the moment the bigger 1978 model rolled out, and this one looks like a lot of fun. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom.
