Engine Specifications: 427 CID OHV V-8 Engine Three 2-Barrel Carburetors 435 BHP at 5,800 RPM 4-Speed Close-Ratio Manual Transmission 4-Wheel Disc Brakes Independent Front and Rear Suspension About this Car: This 1967 Chevrolet Stingray Coupe is the pinnacle of a long and successful Corvette line. Completed on November 9, 1966, and ordered from The Foley Chevrolet Company in Vancouver, Washington, by Roy Zimmerly, this car comes with the original order sheet dated June 17, 1967, which states that the purchase price was $5,330. Presented in the factory combination of Silver Pearl with teal blue vinyl interior, this classic Corvette features the high-performance 427 L71 big-block V-8 motor equipped with three double-barrel carburetors. It was ordered with multiple factory options, including heavy-duty brakes, special performance suspension, and shoulder harness to ensure the safety of the driver riding behind an engine capable of 435 bhp. After two years of ownership, Mr. Zimmerly returned to the dealership and had a rare 4.56 rear-end assembly fitted, as well as a set of aluminum wheels to extract ultimate performance from his beloved Corvette. Although Mr. Zimmerly was meticulous in the upkeep of his car, he drove it quite sparingly, adding only 19,264 miles to the odometer in 22 years. The Corvette remained in storage from 1982 to 1989, when it was sold to John Coumbe, a collector in Phoenix, Arizona. Mr. Coumbe took the car to Factory Muscle, where Steve Banker and Joe Savino, acclaimed experts in the restoration of 1960s muscle cars, conducted a 100-point, frame-off restoration, as per the guidelines issued by the National Corvette Restorers Society. Completed in spring 1990, the car went on to receive a Top Flight Award from the NCRS for excellence in restoration and preservation. In 2001, the car was sold to David Kelley of Woodside, California, and then made its way to Bruce Canepa of Canepa Design in Scotts Valley, whohadeverysysteminspectedandtested. Under Mr. Canepa’s ownership, the car was serviced, detailed, and maintained to concours standards. In 2010, the current owner, a discerning Colorado collector, purchased the low-mileage, highly optioned Corvette and has since kept it among his collection of significant sports cars. Most recently, this exceptional Stingray was driven by a Gooding & Company specialist who reports that the car offers an exhilirating driving experience. It is presented with detailed documentation, including a Protect-O-Plate, service invoices, and original sales contract from 1967. The owner is also including two sets of wheels and tires: the factory Corvette Rallye wheels and radials, and the 15” x 6” aluminum wheels that Mr. Zimmerly later purchased for the car, mounted with a set of red line bias-ply tires. To discover a 1967 Corvette with less than 25,000 miles in this condition is already a rare occurrence. However, to have the possibility to own such a car with this combination of performance options and thorough documentation is an exceptional opportunity.
