Known History

he GT2 is the ultimate variant of the 997 generation of the 911. The only 911 to produce more power, accelerate quicker and reach a higher top speed than the standard GT2 is the GT2 RS. The GT2 produces a staggering 523 BHP, accelerates to 60mph in 3.4 seconds and is capable of a top speed of 204 MPH. The 996 GT2 was superseded by the 997 GT2 in 2007 after a brief hiatus, with cars arriving at dealerships in November of that year after an official launch at the 62nd Frankfurt Motor Show.

The 997 GT2 engine was based on the pre-existing 3.6 L flat-6 engine, but featured twin variable geometry turbochargers, which generate 523 hp at 6500 rpm. It was only the second ever Porsche to exceed the 200 mph barrier, with the exception of the 1998 Porsche 911 GT1. The appearance of the 997 GT2 once again differs greatly from its sister car, the 997 Turbo or its predecessor the 996 GT2. It has a revised front lip, newly designed rear wing with two small air inlets on either side, or a revised rear bumper featuring titanium exhaust pipes and shark fin outlets.

This example was delivered in September 2008 to its first owner. The car is presented in GT silver metallic with black wheels and black leather and alcantara trim. It's a high specification car and options include silver seatbelts, the Sports Chrono package, extended navigation module with bluetooth, Homelink, upgraded sound system, rear parking sensors and a top tinted windscreen. Although supplied with ceramic brakes the car was recently converted to run on steel discs and pads, the original ceramics are in good condition and remain with the car. The car is accompanied by a complete Porsche service history, the most recent was carried out in October 2012 at Porsche Centre Hatfield and at that time a new clutch was fitted by DK. The car has covered 9,500 miles from new and is presented in superb condition throughout.
