The 1956 Caribbean convertible was the last full-size Packard produced. Although most updates for 1956 were minor, one of the most attractive and spirited new features were the reversible seat cushions leather on one side and elegant boucle' cloth on the opposite surface. With the highest rating in the industry, Packard's 374-cid V-8 engine produced 310 horsepower and has dual four-barrel carburetors. With a factory price tag at $5,995, the Caribbean was breathtaking, and accordingly, Packard was able to only sell the limited quantity of 276 convertibles and 263 coupes..
