Known History

Jaguar introduced the series three V12 E-Type in 1971 when only the worlds most exotic cars were available with a V12 engine.

Some people thought that Jaguars latest sports offering was a little soft and flabby, not really a sports car more cruiser. Did Jaguar miss an opportunity to sharpen the new E-type's claws? well this car might make you think yes.

Just imagine what it would have been like to order your new V12 E-Type and tick these boxes, 1) 6.7 Litre engine with 48 valve 4 cam cylinder heads and fuel injection with fully programmable Motec M800 engine management (500BHP), 2) 5 Speed Tremec manual transmission and twin plate clutch, 3) Strengthened LSD rear axle and rose jointed 'A' arm location. 4) Full adjustable dampers front and rear, 5) AP racing brakes, 6) Up rated radiator and cooling fans. 7) Stainless steel tubular exhaust manifolds and big bore system with balance pipe. 9) Special 8" spoke wheels with 235/60/15 tyres. 10) Sports seats with full leather trim, walnut veneer fascia and Nardi wood rim steering wheel. 11) Custom body package with one piece rear bumper.

This car has made that dream a reality and what an amazing car it is. The quality of the work carried out has to be seen to be believed. Lift the bonnet and the clutter of hoses and pipes of the standard V12 are gone. Replaced by machined aluminium with black and silver ribbed cam covers, more Rolls Royce Merlin than Jag V12. Every part of this car has been honed and reengineered to achieve this masterpiece. The overall condition is new and less than 1,000 miles have been covered since the engine work was finished. During the build the body was completely stripped back to metal and all modifications have been carried out in steel. The interior has a careful balance of Ferrari and Jaguar qualities. Attention to detail abounds and on the road the biggest surprise awaits. This is no rough hot-rod. It is just a if Jaguar had produced the car themselves as it has those fine qualities that Jaguar is famous for, smoothness and refinement with performance, just very much more performance. The car is much tauter and all systems suspension, brakes and steering are sharper and more responsive. The engine has a huge power advantage and a glorious exhaust note, but it is no roughneck. It has the heavyweight punch in the silk glove.

A comprehensive history of this car with in-depth information on all of the engineering and work carried out is available and comes with the car. This includes an feature in Jaguar World magazine and a full photo album of the work as it was carried out. Full technical specifications also come with the car. The amount of time, development and money invested in this car is truly mind boggling but the final outcome must be the ultimate V12 Jaguar E-Type.
